Vivian Irene Warner, age 63, daughter of Lewis Elmer and Frances Bell Stanton (Nelson) Morgan was born September 13, 1950 in Houston, MO. She passed away on August 22, 2014 in her home in Bucyrus, MO, surrounded by those she loved.
Vivian lived in many different places as she was growing up. It was while visiting here in Houston at the Old Settler’s Reunion that she met Roy Warner. They were married on March 9, 1968, sharing 33 years of marriage together until his death in 2001. They had four children, Tammy, Shelly, Dawnita and Tuffy.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Lewis E Morgan, Johnny Ray Morgan; two infant sisters, Marjorie Lynn Morgan and Brenda Lee Morgan; one sister, Aleta LaDean Braithwaite; and one son-in-law Michael Grimm.
She is survived by her children, Tammy Warner of Bucyrus, MO, Shelly Cummins and husband Johnny Paul of Bucyrus, MO, Dawnita Kuhn and husband Shannon of Success, MO and Tuffy Warner and wife Angie of Houston, MO; nine grandchildren, Braeden Kuhn, Emily Grimm, Shaina Kuhn, Sara Cummins, Jolie Warner, Daisha Kuhn, Brandon Warner, Tres Warner and Chesney Warner; three brothers, Jerry Morgan of Center, MO, Charles Morgan of Palmyra, MO and Marty Morgan of Little Rock, AR; one sister Sherry Skaggs of Success, MO; and a host of other family members and friends.
Vivian worked as a LPN for several years in the health care profession. She had a heart for people and cared about each patient she worked with.
The outdoors was a great place to be at least that is what Vivian thought. Going fishing was a wonderful way to have fun, relax, and even catch supper! And bird watching from the window or on the porch sipping a cup of coffee was always enjoyable. She even went so far as to listen and imitate the bird calls. Not something everyone can do!
She was a talented seamstress, making wedding dresses, prom dresses and many other articles for the family and friends. She loved games and could play a very mean game of Scrabble. You had to be ready to admit defeat if you challenged a word because she was usually right. What fun the kids had playing games with Nana or listening to one of her exciting stories. Having family together was a highlight of her day. So joining in the fun, laughter, games, storytelling and singing made many happy memories, and that’s what memories are made of, being with those you love and knowing they care so much for you too.
Vivian loved people. Her smile always brightened a room and people knew she cared. She was a member of Hickory Ridge Baptist Church and her love for the Lord was deep. She loved to share the Word of God with those she met. She wanted them to know about the Lord Jesus Christ and His love for them. She desired that they would be ready to meet the One who had given His all for them.
We will miss her but rejoice that she is in the hands of a wonderful loving, just, kind Father. She would want us to be ready to meet her again and all the family members that wait for us.
