Funeral Wednesday For T. J. Dannen
Funeral services for Tjark Jackson Dannen, 81, who passed away Sunday will be held in the Mayflower Chapel of the DeMoss-Durdan funeral home on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
The son of George B. and Henrietta Smith Dannen, he was born on January 28, 1879 on a farm near Van Cleave, Iowa. He attended Dixon Business College at Dixon, Ill., and in 1904, was married to Adda Yates who preceded him in death in 1947. The family lived in Scio, where Mr. Dannen was employed as the agent-telegrapher with the Southern Pacific Railroad company. In 1908, the family moved to Shedd with the Southern Pacific with whom he worked until his retirement in 1939. They resided on a farm at Shedd until 1946 when they moved to Corvallis.
On December 14, 1949, he was married to Mrs. Lena Presti in Corvallis where the couple continued to make their home.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 79, Shedd. In December of 1959, he was awarded the 50-year membership pin. He was also a member of the Corvallis Moose Lodge, No. 1411.
Survivors include his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Undine Hiller, Corvallis; four sons, Karl Y. and Marshall W. Dannen, Springfield and Eugene V. Dannen, Corvallis; two sisters, Mrs. Wallace Sprenger, Shedd and Mrs. Aaron Starnes, Halsey; two step-daughters, Mrs. Marvin Blackburn, Lacomb, Oregon and Mrs. Harold [missing last portion]
