Helen Bittinger, Virginia Beach, Va.- Mrs. Helen Bittinger, 59, a Cranston resident for 40 years, died Tuesday at home. She was the wife of Donald Bittinger. Born in Cranston on
November 9, 1919, she was the daughter of the late William and Sarah (Bulpitt) omfret.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Mrs. Sandra Bulger of West Warwick; two sons, Frank Patnaude of New York and Robert Patnaude of Georgia; two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Benson and Mrs. Alice Perry, both of Cranston; three brothers, Harold Pomfret
of Tennessee, Arthur Pomfret of Cranston, and Edward Pomfret of California, and five grandchildren. The funeral and burial will be held tomorrow in Virginia.

My Mother Ellen Edith Carvelle Pomfret was named after the WWI nurse. Her father, William Pomfret was wounded in France and his nurse attended my Grandfather and he said if he ever has a baby girl he would name her after the nurse.
