Flora was born in Douglas, Mass., the daughter of Jonathan and Mary (Whipple) Sprague. In 1871, after Byron's death, Flora married Harding Allen, in Worcester, Mass. Harding was a widower, his first wife, Sarah M. (McAllister) Allen, having died in 1867, in Vermont. Harding died in Westborough, Mass., in 1899, and was recorded as buried there, and Flora remained living in Westborough (1910 and 1920 US Census).
