He died Oct. 8, 1998, at Bill Nichols State Veterans Home in Alex City. He is survived by his wife, Aubry Ann Bice of Maplesville; a daughter, Jo Ann Varden of Jemison; two sons: Peter L. Bice of Howell, Mich., and Terry L. Bice of Maplesville; a sister, Kathleen Martin of Lipscomb; and four grandchildren.
