Jackie Dale Edendfield, age 60, of Marianna, FL passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014 in the Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. Jackie was born on November 16, 1953 in Marianna to the late A.A. “Cowboy” and Beatrice Edenfield. At the age of 17 Jackie joined the United States Air Force. During his career he was awarded Defense Meritorious Service medal, Commendation medal with one oak leaf cluster, Outstanding Unit award, Good Conduct medal with one silver oak leaf cluster, National Defense Service medal with one Bronze Star, Overseas Short Tour ribbon, and the Longevity Service award with four oak leaf clusters. In 1991 he retired as a MSGT after 20 years of service finishing his military career in the Pentagon. In 2000 Jackie started work for the Department of Defense as a Special Agent, and among his many duties, Jackie was given the honor of protecting the President. He would later open his own business, Edenfield Investigations before finally retiring. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Albert Eugene Edenfield.
He is survived by his son Eric Scott of Marianna, FL; his daughter Ashley Monique Parsons of Knob Noster, Missouri; brother Alvin Lynn Edenfield and wife Suzette of Altha, FL; two sisters Tona Skipper and husband David of Marianna, FL and Annette Perkins and husband Jerold of Cottondale, FL; five grandchildren Jake, Lucas, Brad, Christian and Kaden. Jackie is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for Jackie will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Rhul Edenfield officiating. Full military honors will be given by the Eglin Air Force Honor Guard.
Family will accept flowers or donations in memory of Jackie may be made to Covenant Hospice at 4215 Kelson Ave., Suite E, Marianna, Florida 32446
