The funeral service for Paul "Phil" Adams, 76, will be at 2:00 PM Friday, September 10, 2010, at Central Christian Church, with Rev. John McLemore and Rev. Don Johnson officiating. The family will greet friends in the church parlor before the service. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
He was born to Paul and Clarice (Rozelle) Adams on August 25, 1934, in Chadwick, Missouri, and died Monday, September 6, 2010 in Enid.
Paul attended schools in Memphis, and then attended Memphis State University. He married Mildred Poole on April 9, 1960 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was in the US Air Force from 1956 to 1984, serving in Vietnam. On June 10, 1978, he married Jane Keel in Universal City, Texas. Paul retired from the Air Force in December 1984 as a Lt. Col. After moving to Enid, he was self-employed in advertising specialty sales. He was a member of Ambucs, Air Force Association, Central Christian Church, where he was an elder, the Sooner Sunday School Class, and was active with Boy Scouts of America.
He is survived by wife Jane; sons, John Adams of Arcadia, Paul Phillip Adams, Jr. and James Adams, both of Enid; daughter Lori Myers of Oklahoma City; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister Debra Frazier of Germantown, Tennessee; three brothers, Dan Adams of Memphis, Tennessee, James Adams of Cos Cobb, Connecticut, and Wayne Adams of New Canaan, Connecticut.
