He was born in February 11, 1926 in Evanston to the now late Joyce F. and Amy McIntosh {nee Armstrong}. Formerly of Grayslake, George was a resident of Homer Glen for the past five years, and was a member of Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Grayslake, as well as a member of the Mason's Lodge in Evanston.
He leaves his children, Richard (Linda) McIntosh of Ohio, Patti (Andy) McIntosh-Oles of Homer Glen, and Ed (Susan) McIntosh of Georgetown, TX; his grandchildren, David, Sarah, Scott, Erin, Nick, and Katherine; and his two great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Mim, whom he wed on July 5, 1947 in Crown Point, IN; as well as his sister Dorothy Dean.
Friends of the family may join them for memorial visitation from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 EAST BELVIDERE ROAD, GRAYSLAKE, IL 60030.
The memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2008, also at Strang Funeral Chapel.
Inurnment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society , 100 Tri-State International, Suite 125, Lincolnshire, IL 60069 or to the Kidney Foundation of Illinois, 600 South Federal Street, #201, Chicago, IL 60605 would be appreciated.
