Theresa H. Chubick, 90, of Creston died Aug. 21, 1996, at the Afton Care Center.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Keating-Lindsay-Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Avenue. Joyce Basler, interim lay pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ, will officiate the service. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, north of Prescott. There is open visitation after 9 a.m. Friday with the family receiving friends 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or St. John's United Church of Christ.
Mrs. Chubick was born Dec. 29, 1905, in Hancock to David Lewis and Cynthia Rosemond (Babbitt) LeRette. She attended schools in the Hancock area. On Oct. 22, 1927, she married Arthur C. Chubick at Atlantic. She was a homemaker, and taught and played the piano for many years.
She lived in the Hancock and Lewis areas before moving to Creston in 1937 where she lived until moving to the Afton Care Center in 1985.
Survivors include a daughter, Doreen Clark of Council Bluffs; five sons, Arthur J. (wife Betty) Chubick, Wilbur R. (wife Joan) Chubick and Marion E. (wife Bonnie) Chubick of Creston, Jerry L. (wife Joy) Chubick of Muskogee, Okla., and Barry K. (wife Charima) Chubick of Porter, Okla.; a brother, Gerald LeRette of Council Bluffs; three sisters, Viola (husband Freeman) Johnson of Medford, Ore., Genevieve Mathes of Council Bluffs and Lorraine (husband Guy) White of Dallas, Texas; 27 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband March 15, 1988; two sons, Delbert and Frank; a daughter, Rosalyn; three grandchildren; three brothers; and two sisters.
