MARSING - Servicers for Elmer C. Barlow, 76, Marsing, who died Thursday in a Caldwell hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the Homedale Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Bishop Bernard Levanger, under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Interment will follow in Marsing Homedale Cemtery.
He was born Nov. 15, 1904, in Bountiful, Utah, to Truman H. and Sarah Call Barlow. He was reared and educated in Bountiful and attended the University of Utah. In 1928, he moved to Vale, Ore., where he farmed, and then moved to Burley in 1931. He married Ferrfis Gee in 1933 in Burley. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on Feb. 20, 1935. They lived at the Sunny Slope area near Caldwell and moved to Marsing in 1941. He was a member of the LDS Church and served as the first bishop of the Homedale Ward, as branch president and as High Priest group leader. He also served on the Stake High Council.
Survivors include his wife of Marsing, a son, Kevin of Marsing; two daughters, Bonnie Walker of Marsing and Charlene of Orem, Utah; four sisters, Lucille Clark of Farmington, Utah, and Naomi Monson Annis Gordon and Eva Springler, all of Bountiful; two brothers, Joel C of Provo, Utah, and Woodrow of Burley; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a granddaughter.
