Mark H. Milam of 415 N. State St. died Sunday, March 28, 1993, at Highline Convalescent Center. He was 87. A private family service will be held before the memorial service, which will be held at 3 pm Sunday at St. James Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Trintenbach officiating.


Born Oct 8, 1905 in Ivan, Texas, to Walter and Ethel Milam, Mr. Milam graduated from San Diego Military Academy in San Diego. He later attended Arizona State University, where he played football.


He married Virginia Reid in 1930. She died in 1959.


Mr. Milam became personnel manager for Mobil Oil Co. in Ferndale in 1954. He married Ilene Hill seven years later. She died in 1989.


Mr. Milam was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church, Bellingham Golf and Country Club, and Elks Lodge No. 194. He enjoyed golfing and watching baseball and football.


Survivors include sons Walter Milam of Los Angeles and Robert Milam of Kingsport, Tenn; daughters Leila Terry and Anita Pierce, both of Bellingham; and 10 grandchildren.
