NASHVILLE — Graveside services and interment, with military honors, for Mr. James “Jimmy” Andrew Brown, 58, of Cookeville, will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 25, at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Nashville.

Mr. Brown died Thursday afternoon, Aug. 22, 2014, in Life Care Center of Sparta.

He was born July 3, 1956, in Detroit, Mich., to the late Arthur B. and Ruby Ann Whittenburg Brown.

Mr. Brown was an Army veteran, he worked a number of years as a HVAC engineer for Opryland Hotel, and he was of the Baptist faith.

Jimmy was raised in Nashville, where he was an avid golfer and won a major youth citywide golf tournament. He loved hunting and fishing.

Despite a valiant battle with MS, he handled himself with grace and dignity and always had a smile on his face.

His family includes his sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Gary Floeter of Cookeville; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Michael Brown of Rowlett, Texas, and Arthur “Art” and Sandy Brown of Murfreesboro; nieces, Tiffany (Lincoln) Dabbs, Angie (Chris) Turnbow, Cinday (Todd) Adamson, Lisa (Eric) Nielson and Amy Brown; and a nephew, Logan Brown.

Rev. Harold White will officiate at the graveside services in Nashville.
