Mrs. Gladys Stephenson, 94, of Crossett, died Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Stonegate Villa Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crossett. Mrs. Stephenson was a native of Blytheville; a resident of Crossett for the past 14 years and a former resident of Fountain Hill for many years. She was a homemaker and she was an active member of the South Main Baptist Church and a former member of Eden Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and she will be remembered as one of the finest cooks around.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, D.L. Stephenson of 2003; a son, Jim Stephenson in 2012; her parents, John Wesley & Maudie Mapps Byers; four sisters, Ruby Church, Lorene Church, Bertha West and Bertie Powell and three brothers, Clarence E. Byers, Victor Byers and Jay Byers.

She is survived by two sons, Danny Stephenson and wife, Corie, of Georgetown, Arkansas and Ernie Stephenson of Crossett; a daughter, Peggy Walters; a daughter-in-law, Joye Stephenson; a special daughter-in-law, Nelsene Tutt and husband, Fred all of Crossett; 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the South Main Baptist Church with Bro. Lyle Hearn and Bro Travis Roberts officiating. A private family graveside service will be in the Eden Cemetery. Pallbearers are Fred Tutt, Denzil Stephenson, Daniel Stephenson, Jerod Walters, Robby Bridges and Jeremy Mills. Honorary pallbearers are Thomas Neale, Jeff Walker and Daniel Mangum
