He was the son of Nancy Beall and John G. Brannon, who migrated to present-day Gilmer Co in the early nineteenth century.

He married Jemima Permelia Beall, daughter of George H. and Mary Ann Parsons Beall. They lived and farmed on Cedar Creek.

Their children were William Henry, Amanda E., Harvey Calhoun, Anna Elizabeth, Catherine Clarison, Permelia Jane, John Marion, Warren W., and Charles Franklin.

Henry B. may be interred in this cemetery along with other relatives, but there is no marker. It is also possible he is buried above campus in town where some other relatives are buried.

The death date comes from the records of Mary Cooper, a great-granddaughter.
