Elizabeth M. Sheehan; 90 years old of Antioch, IL passed away Monday May 13, 2013 at Rolling Hills Place, Zion, IL, surrounded by her family. She was born December 13, 1922 in Spring Grove, IL the daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Bauer) Weber, moving to Antioch in 1933. Elizabeth was a member of St. Peter Church, Antioch, former member of the CCW at the church, served on the Lake County Housing Authority Board, delivered Meals on Wheels, and was a member of the Antioch Senior Center. She enjoyed playing Bingo, Bunco, and reading. Before her retirement, Elizabeth had worked at Ben Franklin and Jewel/Osco in Antioch. On April 17, 1940 she married Joseph M. Sheehan in Antioch and he preceded her in death on July 21, 1979.
Survivors include: five children: Judy (Robert) Poulsen of Grayslake, IL, Donald (Kathie) Sheehan of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Dudley (Debby) Sheehan of Sycamore, IL, Dennis (Sandra) Sheehan of Antioch, IL, and Patrick (Cheryl) Sheehan of Brillion, WI; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two siblings: Patricia Grasty of Gurnee, IL and Gerald (Virginia) Weber of Burlington, WI; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Richard “Tiny” Sheehan and five siblings: Arnold, Irving, and Bob Weber, Gladys Birchfield and Esther Weber.
Funeral Services with Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Thursday May 16, 2013 at St. Peter Church, 557 Lake St. Antioch, IL 60002. Interment will follow in Willow Lawn Cemetery, Vernon Hills, IL. Visitation will be held from 4PM until 8PM Wednesday at THE STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL 60002. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Antioch Rescue Squad are appreciated in her memory.
