Obituary:
J. C. Bradford, 73, for twenty-five years a resident of the Margaret community, died Sunday about noon at the Crowell Hospital after waging a valiant fight for life for several days in which he was at the point of death. He had been in ill health for about two years and underwent an operation a few days before the end came.

Funeral services were held in the Margaret Baptist Church Monday afternoon with Rev. Foster officiating, assisted by Rev. L.A. Foster of Vernon and Rev. O. B. Annis of Margaret. Interment was made in the Crowell Cemetery. The love and esteem of this section for Mr. Bradford, more commonly known as 'Uncle John', was shown by the large crowd present at the funeral.

Six grand-sons acted as pall bearers with is grand-daughters as flower girls. The pall bearers were Ben, Curtis, John, Ralph, Lee and Carl Bradford. The flower girls were Lula, Zola, Jewell, Lenora and Athline Bradford, Flora Arnwine, Olive Denton, Edna Owens, Floy Murphy and Lona Roden.

Mr. Bradford is survived by his wife, two sons, three daughters, one brother, one sister, eighteen grand-children and one great grand child. All the children, with the exception of one daughter were here at the time of his death. A sister, Mrs. W. J. Moore, of Fort Worth and a brother, Buel Bradford of Ada, Oklahoma, were unable to attend the funeral.

He would have been seventy-four years old in January. He was born in Tennessee and was converted when a young man and joined the Baptist Church thirty-two years ago. He came from Tennessee to Texas thirty-three years ago and later moved to the Margaret section about twenty-five years ago.

Mr. Bradford acted as a janitor for the Margaret school for the past five years. He was dearly loved by all the children there and each brought a flower and placed it on a table at the foot of the casket.

The pleasant character and winning personality of Mr. Bradford will never be forgotten. He lived a true Christian life and was a kind hearted a person as anyone ever expected to meet.

Monday a love offering in memory of Mr. Bradford was raised in Margaret community and presented to his family.
