CLEARFIELD – Verna King Woods Mead, 95, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014. Through her life she had lived in Layton, California, Ogden and Clearfield.
She was born March 14, 1919 in Layton, Utah the daughter of William Andrew and Chestina Phillips King.
Verna married Henry Ray Woods on October 13, 1940. He preceded her in death on September 1, 1966. She married Eugene B. (Jack) Mead on October 1, 1974. He preceded her in death on September 2, 1986.
She was a homemaker and helped her mother take care of her siblings. Verna worked at Clover Club Foods, Deseret Industries and did service through Ogden Seniors.
She loved doing crafts and sharing them.
Surviving are her brothers, Alma L. King, Hyrum D. King, Joseph D. King, Keith Mason King and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents.
Interment Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
