Charles Wesley Lyle, 70, died at 1:15 a.m. Monday at his home, 1935 Mulberry Street, of carcinoma and complications. He had been confined to his bed for a week.

Mr. Lyle had been a resident of Waterloo for 40 years. Prior to his retirement because of failing health he was a foreman for the Rath Packing Company, by whome he was employed for 30 years. He was affiliated with the Linden Methodist Episcopal Church and was a member of the Woodmen of the World.

Mr. Lyle was born June 30, 1862 at Sullivan, Mo., the son of William and Hannah Lyle. He married Etta May Kidd July 24, 1885, at Kiddville, Mo.

He is survived by his widow, one son, Charles F. Lyle, 1935 Mulberry Street; five daughters: Mrs. Charles Neebel, 1201 Byron Avenue; Mrs. Morris Wyborny, 522 Blowers Avenue; Mrs. A. C. Raps, Duluth, Minn.; Mrs. Joseph Wyborny, Mora Minn.; and Mrs. Charles B. Anderson, Esterville, Ia; one sister, Mrs. A. B. Lane, 1413 Jefferson Street, and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Kistner Chapel by Rev. J. S. Lilley, pastor of Linden M. E. Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
