A service was held Thursday at the Chapel of the Desert Funeral Home, Indio, for Bertha Wilson, 95, of Palm Desert. She died Tuesday in Rancho Mirage. A native of Michigan, she lived in the Coachella Valley for 21 years. She is survived by two sons, Lester Wilson of Michigan and Bob Wilson of Hemet; two daughters, June Travis of Indian Wells and Naomi Sylvester of Michigan; 12 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Sherman Bye of Orlando, Fla. Burial was in the Coachella Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
