DECATUR -- Dorothy F. Himes, 87, of Decatur, formerly of Maroa, died at 1:05 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 14, 2014) in McKinley Court Nursing Home.

Mrs. Himes was born Oct. 26, 1926, in Knox County, Tenn., the daughter of Grover Cleveland and Lillie Alice Loveday Mashburn. She married Nelson C. Himes on Nov. 20, 1949, in Maroa. She was a 30-year business owner in Maroa. She was affiliated with Maroa Christian Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Covey of Decatur; Jo-Jo Carman of Naples, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jason Wiegard, Christa Garcia and Laura Wiegard, all of Decatur; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and three brothers.
