Herbert W. Bunch, 93, of Rte. 2, Eldon died Monday, July 25, 1988 at Harry S. Truman Veterans Administration Hospital in Columbia. He was born July 11, 1895 in Miller County to Thomas J. and Florence H. Holder Bunch. On April 21, 1923 he was married in Tuscumbia to Edith Beard, who survives him.
Mr. Bunch was a retired farmer and was a deacon at the Blue Springs Baptist Church. During World War I he served with the U.S. Army in France for more than 16 months.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Bunch is survived by two daughters, Faye Conners and Mildred Polly, both of Eldon; three sisters, Lois Greenup and Naomi Crum, both of Eldon, and Virgie Bowlin of Lone Jack; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Blue Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Bunch officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Springs Cemetery under the auspices of Eldon VFW Post 2442s military team. Visitation was held at Griswold-Kays Funeral Home in Eldon.
