Juila Ann (POOLE) McCARTHY-GRIDLEY was the eldest of the seven children of Amos Turner POOLE M.D. & Melissa Bloomfield (KNOX) POOLE. Julia married (1st) Freeman McCARTHY in 1859 and had two children before they later divorced. Julia married (2nd) Henry Noah GRIDLEY by whom she is buried beside.

Julia's children were:
#1 Mary Elizabeth McCARTHY (1861-1928) m. 1879 to Thomas SAGE (1858-1932).
#2 Evaline Melissa McCARTHY (1865-?) m. 1887 Henry Wallace KINNEY (1860-1943).
