"Mrs. John K. Garrett (Belvidene), 91, of Sun City West, Arizona passed away with her husband of 69 years and family by her side on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. She joins her parents Alfred and Margaret (Dietrich) Crain and sister, Betty Jo Trullinger. Belvidene was born on January 8, 1922 at the farm home in Barnard, Missouri. Belvidene graduated with a Bachelors degree in Education from Northwest Missouri State Teachers College. She had several places of employment as a Clerical Worker and Teacher, yet the one she was most proud of was being a homemaker, raising and taking care of her family. While in the military, her husband John and the family lived in many states throughout the USA. While residing in Kent, Ohio, Belvidene was a full member of the United Methodist Church. After moving to Sun City West, Arizona in 1992, she became an associate member of the Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church. She is survived by her loving husband John, and five children: Garth Garrett of Pasadena, California; Rebecca Garrett of Phoenix, Arizona; Cara Desko of Kent, Ohio; Susan McDonagh of Columbus, Ohio; and Marta Lane of Kent, Ohio; five grandchildren and three great granddaughters. Belvidene will be laid to rest at home in Kent, Ohio with no service at the request of the family. Contributions may be given to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, Arizona, 85014. Arrangements were entrusted to Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel in Sun City West, Arizona."
