Joy T. Humes
Joy T. Humes, 92, a lifetime resident of Salida, died Oct. 5, 2005, at Columbine Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Humes was born Dec. 18, 1912, in Bonanza to Clyde and Anna (Soash) Tuttle.
She married Clarence Humes April 6, 1947. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Humes worked for many years at Longfellow Elementary School in the cafeteria and was a volunteer at the Salida Senior Citizens Center.
She enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, making crafts and was a baby sitter for many Salida families.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Humes and son, Lary Humes.
She is survived by her son Gary Humes of Trinidad; daughter, Sharon (Dwight) Lewellen of Aurora and grandchildren Shira Lewellen and Mark Lewellen, both of Denver.
Viewing will be from 9 a.m. until noon and 1-4 p.m. today at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
Services are set for 1 p.m. Oct. 8, 2005, at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Salida Senior Citizens Center through Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
