SUMMERFIELD - Betty L. Howie, 62, a retired school bus driver for the Marion County School Board, died Friday, May 2, 2003, at home under hospice care.
A native of Indianapolis, she was a former resident of Weirsdale. Mrs. Howie was a doll collector and of Protestant faith.
Survivors include her husband, John R. Howie, Summerfield; mother, Noris P. Swinford, Summerfield; daughters, Vicky L. Pruitt, Ocala and Julie Powell, Summerfield; brother, Raymond E. Swinford, Summerfield; stepdaughters, Ellie Whigham, Summerfield, Katherine Rush, Ormond Beach, Amy Metheney and Anna Morrow, both of Cincinnati; stepson, Robert C. Howie, Anthony; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
