BIRMINGHAM | James Mayhew Basinger of Birmingham, a native of Aliceville, passed away August 12, 2014, at the age of 91.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Hunter Basinger and Mary "Miss Pet" Mayhew Basinger; and siblings, Sara Basinger Hagerman Brim and Albert Hunter Basinger, Jr. Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years, two sons, one daughter-in-law, three granddaughters, a niece, a brother- in-law, a sister-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. ?Services will be held at Christ Church United Methodist, 5091 Caldwell Mill Road at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2014. The family will receive visitors at 9:30 a.m.
A private burial will be held at The Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
