Earl Alton, the ninth child and sixth son son of Daniel and Elizabeth was born four hours after his sister,Elizabeth. Afterwards his mother died due to lack of medical help.

Earl was raised by his Uncle Jeremiah and Aunt Sarah because his father deserted his Family and went West after the death of Earl's mother.

Earl was in the First World War, was gassed by the Germans and suffered the rest of his life and a GSW (gun shot wound) to the right arm.

Probably the most feared weapon used during World War One was poison gas. A hit by an artillery shell usually resulted in an quick death. A hit from a machine gun or a sniper was also usually fatal.

Later,Earl worked for Algoma Steel in the Sault.

He was enlisted and served in the 119th,10th,73rd and 13th Battalion over-seas.He sailed from Halifax to Liverpool on the S.S. Metagamma 19th September 1916.

He returned home from England leaving on May 3rd 1919 to Halifax landed May 11th 1919 on the H.M.T. Mauretania. His pay for this time served was $510.73.

His Regimental Number: 754013.

In 1925 Earl and Belle Muldoon married.Their union produced four children,3 boys and a girl.

Alice: born:April 4th 1932-married Roy Evan Mick
