LONGTIME DAIRY LEADER A. DAMAS
HUGHSON - Antone Frank Damas, 89, died at his home here Sunday.
Mr. Damas was born in Hayward in 1914. He lived in Hughson 83 years and was a self employed farmer for 40 years. He was a former director of Western Dairymen and MPPA and one of the original board members of the Manufacturing Milk Advisory Board. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the LUSO American Club. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1941-1945, and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5059.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Damas of Hughson; children, Antone Anthony Damas and Larry Damas, both of Hughson, Herman Damas of Ceres and Joanne Borges of Turlock; and 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
The rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. today at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with visitation there from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today. A Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial at Lakewood Memorial Park. The Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs, Modesto, in charge of arrangements.
