He was known as "Nickel" in Germany and "Nicholas" in America.

(1) Maria Magdalena Caesar on 14 June 1746 in Merxheim, Palatinate [Germany] and
(2) Anna Schweiss on 28 November 1747 in Badenheim, Hessen [Germany].
Father of eleven children.
