Mr. Phillips was born October 25, 1920 in Marion County, a son of the late Robert C. and Nancy Phillips.
He was a retired electrician. Mr. Phillips was a US Army veteran, having served in World War II. He was a member of Palmetto Church of God.
Surviving Mr. Phillips are: 2 Daughters: Patricia Odom of Taylors and Wanda Scott of Taylors; 3 Grandchildren: Cathy Smith, Lee Odom and Kelli Scott, all of Taylors; 3 Great Grandchildren: Miriah Smith of Taylors, Sydney (Adivas) Booker of Ft. Campbell, KY and Holden Smith of Taylors; and an expected Great Great Grandson: Eli Booker.
The family will receive friends Friday morning, June 24, from 11:00 until 12:00 Noon at Grace Community Church.Funeral services will follow at 12:00 Noon in the Sanctuary of Grace Community Church, with Rev. Steve Small and Rev. Donald Freeman officiating. Burial will be at Devotion Gardens Cemetery, directed by Smith-Collins Funeral Home.
