Born 01 August 1781, in Bristol, Maine.
Son of Capt.Joshua & Mary (Cushman).

Married to Sarah Allen on 18 Sept 1803 in Providence, Rhode Island.
He was the 1st editor of Methodist Magazine 1818.
Bishop Soule was buried first in the Old City Cemetery, Nashville, Davidson Co, TN, then reinterred at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN. He shares the monument with Bishop William McKendree.
Direct line descendant of George Soule and wife Mary (Buckett), he a Mayflower passenger.

1867 - died. Gallatin Pike, City Road Chapel, now Madison TN, buried in the old City Cemetery
1876 - reinterred at Vanderbilt University Divinity School Cemetery, Nashville TN

BURIAL:first in the old City Cemetery, Nashville, TN; then reintered Oct 1876, on campus of Vanderbilt University Divinity School Cemetery. There is a large rectangular, monument, which also has name of Bishop William McKendree, reference "The Life of Joshua Soule, pg 280.

Bishop Joshua's grave was removed from Nashville City Cemetery and interred with new Monument on Vanderbilt Campus, Nashville, TN. Family Monument is in Nashville City Cemetery.
