I T Barnett was born February the 12th, 1845 and died July the 9th, 1926 at the age of 81 years, four months and 27 days, at his home on Liberty, route one.
On the 9th day of July, the Death Angel visited my home and took my dear companion. He was a kind and loving husband and father. He was good to everybody and was always ready to help in distress. He leaves a vacant place in his home that never can be filled.
He had been a member of the Primitive Baptist church for nearly forty years and always enjoyed going to meeting as long as he was able to go.
Everything was done by loving hands that could be done but nothing could stay the cold hand of death. The Lord said, "Come up higher and take thy rest." I miss him so much.
He leaves his widow, Mrs H M Barnett, three sons, L A, W C and I M Barnett, two daughters, Mrs Allred, of route one Liberty and Mrs Boudine, of route one, Arab, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his death.
Sleep on dear one, take thy rest. We loved you, yes we loved you but the Lord knew best. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh.
Written by his wife, Mrs H M Barnett.
He had no children by his second wife, Josephine, or his 3rd wife, Harriet.
