Marilyn Jean Adams-Church, 73, died on July 25, 2009 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America.
Marilyn was born on Dec. 23, 1935 in Midland to the late John K. and Rachael Ellen (Everett) Suderman.
Marilyn had two loving husbands in her life, first was Larry Adams who predeceased her and Gerald "Jerry" Church whom she married on Dec. 1, 2007 at the Eagle Ridge Church of God.
Marilyn attended Delta College and earned her Masters in Psychology from CMU. She was an expert seamstress and she used her skills to teach sewing classes. She was a professional photographer and worked for the Midland Daily News and for Wrights Studio. Marilyn was an avid fisherman, she made wedding cakes, and cooked at the Midland Country Club. Marilyn was an avid tennis player since she was seventeen. She loved to give to others.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Jerry Church, son, Victor (Phyllis) Adams of Flint; grandson Lawrence (Jo) Adams of Midland; sons Steven (Becky) Church of Midland, Kevin (Tamie) Church of Midland; daughter Jerilyn (Richard) Smith of Hoyt, Kansas; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren Jenna Adams and Triston Mapes of Midland, Jenny Coudret and Tyler Thomas of Flint; sisters Anna Butterfield of Lapeer, Ella (Chris) Weber of Sanford, Helen (Chris) Davis of Midland and her brother John Suderman of Midland. Marilyn was preceded in death by her sister Orlou Lynburner.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Eagle Ridge Church of God on Thursday July 30 at 11:00 am with Reverend James Shanks officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday July 29 at Smith-Miner Funeral Home from 5 to 7 pm and at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
