MONTPELIER WOMAN DIED IN UTAH
Fanny Hortense Hunter Sharp, 57, wife of James H Sharp, died Friday of cancer in Salt Lake City at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank D Stephens. A native of Bennington and a resident of Montpelier for 40 years, Ms. Sharp was born December 19, 1901, the daughter of David P and Meta Hansen Hunter. She and Mr. Sharp were married December 18, 1920 in Paris. She was a member of the LDS Church and a teacher in the fourth ward primary. Mrs. Sharp belonged to the Ladies' Auxiliary, Syringa Lodge No 602 to the B of R T.
Besides her husband she is survived by three children, Mrs. Lyman L (Helen) Hirschi of Geneva, James H Sharp Jr. of Afton, and Mrs. Frank D (Pat) Stephens of Salt Lake City; nine grandchildren; five sisters Mrs. Chris (Mary) Buckley of Seattle, Mrs. Minnie Irving of Pocatello, Mrs. Josehine Banks and Mrs. Nellie Blalock both of Montpelier, and Mrs. E F (Jean) Burpee of Pocatello; and four brothers David P Hunter of Rexburg, DeVerl C Hunter of Blackfoot, George P Hunter of Green River and Clifford Hunter of Gooding.
Services were held at 1 pm Tuesday in the Montpelier LDS third ward chapel with Bishop David Jensen conducting. Following the invocation by L B Nield was the obituary, Bishop Jensen; speaker Bishop Royal D Clark; vocal solo "Oh Dry Those Tears" Max Haddock; speaker Bishop James A Crane; vocal solo "In The Garden" Mrs. Eugene W Wilcox; benediction, Lorenzo Speirs. Lillas Swensen was accompanist.
Interment was in the Montpelier cemetery and the grave was dedicated by Clifford Hunter. The Matthews Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
