Ethel Miller Landford, 94, of Austin, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 in Elgin. Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 1:00pm at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale. Visitation will be prior to service from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Ethel was born August 13, 1919 in Rockdale to Emil Miller and Myrtle (McLaughlin) Miller. She married Thomas W. Lanford on May 12, 1935 in Rockdale and in 1939 they moved to Austin. She loved painting and enjoyed playing the piano at many nursing homes.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
Ethel is survived by her sons, Thomas Lanford of Austin and James Lanford and wife Mary of Elgin; and five grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
