Mona’s first name is Iris. She disliked her first name so she was known as I. Mona Fields.

Mona the daughter of Duncan Edward and Marguerite J. (White) Ellement grew up with her siblings: Eunice and Basil in the City of Buffalo, New York.

Mona married Ross A. Fields. Together they raised their children: Raymond, Daniel, Kenneth, Cheryl, Michael and Edward in the City of Buffalo, New York. Mona’s son, Edward died October 16, 1998,

Mona was hired at Ferguson Electric Construction Co., Inc. by Robert A. Fredricks, Vice-President of Engineering. Mona previously worked at Stroh Electric which closed. Mona did everything at Stroh Electric. She even loaded the trucks. Mona was Bob Fredricks’ Assistant. She bid on jobs with Bob Fredricks and the Engineers, went to job sites, attended job meetings, troubleshooted paper work on projects for the Engineers that had problems, typed complicated bids and letters. When Mona retired, Bob Fredricks was lost. He missed his ‘right hand man’, Mona. No one was hired to fill her position. The Engineers were assigned her tasks and an Administrative Assistant was hired to type correspondence and bids. After Mona left and Bob Fredricks wanted something, whomever he talked to would always be addressed as ‘Mona’. The office staff got used to being called ‘Mona’ and would answer Bob Fredricks. Mona was very, very hard working. Mona was stern, but also loving and caring. Mona was very well liked and respected. She was missed by all.

Rest in Sweet Peace.
