2003 Howard M. Barlow, 91, of Wayne City, died Tuesday May 6, 2003 at 12:30 p.m. to Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. Mr. Barlow was retired owner and operator of Barlow's Apple House in Wayne City. Services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church of Wayne City under the direction of York Funeral Home in Wayne City with Bro. Chuck Smith officiating. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery near Wayne City. Visitation is Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. at York Funeral Home in Wayne City and after 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the Church. Howard was born May 2, 1912 in Shawneetown, the son of Jerry Milton and Nannie EDDINGS Barlow. He married Erma DRAPER on July 6, 1948 in Fairfield. Mr. Barlow was an active member of the First Christian Church of Wayne city. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U. S. Dept. of Agriculture in Shawneetown, Edwardsville and Fairfield. Survivors include his wife of 54 years of Wayne City; a daughter Carolyn (Walter) Richardson of Cisne; three granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; a brother, Robert Barlow of Fairfield, and a sister Nannie Parr of Shelbyville. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers.
