Clarinda A. Covell was the daughter of Jonathan and Clarinda Parsons Covell. She married William Betts Keeler in Huron County, Ohio on November 19, 1850. Their children were Anna Jane, Frank W. and Stella Clarinda. A daughter, Mamie, died young.

FIRELANDS PIONEER OF OHIO, VOL 17-19 - PAGE 1809 - MRS. WM B. KEELER - Covell, Clarinda A., daughter of Johnathan and Clarinda Covell, was born Dec 20, 1824, in Cayuga Co., N. Y. When a little girl she came to Ohio with her parents. Mr. Covell settled on a farm in Bronson Township. There Clarinda was married to Wm. B. Keeler Nov. 19, 1850. They resided in Norwalk until the autumn of 1853, when they removed to Muscatine, Iowa. In 1874 Mr. and Mrs. Keeler moved to Chicago, Ill., and she died there Aug, 1909.

MRS. W. B. KEELER DIES IN CHICAGO. Muscatine relatives and friends apprised of the death of former resident of this city, who passed away Sunday. Wife of Col. William B. Keeler of the 35th Iowa Infantry--Was a native of the Buckeye State and in Her 82nd Year--Resided in Muscatine for Twenty Years. A message to Muscatine relatives brought the tidings of the death of Mrs. William B. Keeler, wife of Col. Keeler of the 35th Iowa, she having passed away Sunday morning at 2:30 o'clock at her home in Chicago. Mrs. Keeler was in her 82nd year. For a score of years the decedent had been a well known resident of Muscatine and was held in universal esteem. After removing to Chicago she frequently accompanied her husband to Muscatine to grace the reunions of the Colonel's old regiment, the 35th Iowa, held in this city. The news of her demise will be received with sadness and deep regret by the many who knew and loved her for her estimable qualities. The maiden name of Mrs Keeler was Miss Clarinda Covell. She first saw the light of day at Norwalk, Ohio, on December 20, 1827. At the age of 23 years she was united in marriage to William W. Keeler, their union being celebrated on November 19, 1850. They came to Muscatine about 1855 with the Covell family and here they lived for a score of years, their home being at what was subsequently known as the Fred Daut homestead on Mulberry avenue. in 1875 the Keeler family moved to Chicago, where they have resided ever since. Local relatives of decedent are a granddaughter, Mrs. Carl C. Schmidt, of this city, and two nephews, Charles Covell of Wilton and Bert Covell of Muscatine. Mrs. Keeler was a good and sincere Christian woman and had the distinction of being a charter member of the Lexington Avenue Baptist church. The surviving husband and children have the sympathy of all. The children are Anna Keeler Sargeant and Stella Keller Farnham, of Chicago and Frank Keeler, of Wheeling, West Virginia. The funeral is appointed to take place Tuesday afternoon in Chicago.
