Chris was born June 16,1884 in Fairview, Idaho to Edwin and Matilda Roberts Bodily. He was the 6th of 13 children. When he was 18 he was called on an LDS mission to the Southern States. He had a strong testimony of the Gospel and was a good missionary. He could ask questions that made people ponder and think about gospel principles. On Jan. 27, 1915 he married Blanche Matkin in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Fairview, Idaho and then in Lewiston, Utah where they farmed and ran sheep. During the depression his motto was, "I just don't go to town, then I don't spend money." Four of his sons served their country in WW2. Arlo and Vertis also served missions for the LDS Church. He died on May 23, 1945 at the age of 60.
