Leonard John Stark Sr., age 82, of Ft. Pierce, Fla., died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla. He was born in Marshfield, Wis., Feb. 13, 1924. He has been a resident of Ft. Pierce for the last 26 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, seeing action in the South Pacific. He was an active member of the local Moose Lodge, earning the Pilgrim degree. He was also a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, The Knights of Columbus, and an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves baseball team. They now have another angel to cheer them on. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mertie; son, Leonard Jr. from Taiwan; three daughters, Joan Bartlett and her husband Bill, Jean Bartlett and her husband Pat, and Jane Vaughan and her husband Tom Polaski all from Manassas; one brother, Ron; and three sisters, Marie, Shirley, and Ruth all residing in Wisconsin. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at Price Funeral Home, 9609 Center St., Manassas, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006. Interment will follow at Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery, Nokesville. Condolences may be sent to www.pricefh.com.
