KATHLEEN M. DAVIS COLUMBIA -- Kathleen Elizabeth McLeod Davis, 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, August 4, 2014, peacefully surrounded by her family at her home in Columbia. A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Elim Baptist Church Cemetery, Effingham, SC. The family will speak to visitors after the service. Kathleen was born in the Glenwood community of Florence County, the daughter of the late Reuel, Sr. and Pauline Ferrell McLeod. She attended schools at Glenwood and Bonaire, she was a graduate of Winthrop College. For a number of years she taught Home Economics at Langley-Bath-Clearwater near Aiken, SC and continued to teach at Antioch, California, her home for many years. She was married to the late Emil Davis. She is survived by daughter, Sherrie Hess, Cabot, Arkansas, brother, Reuel (Carole) McLeod, Jr, Orangeburg, SC; sisters-in-law Josie McLeod, Columbia, Linda McLeod, Florence, SC and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings, Ruby Fricks, Billy McLeod, Mary Ellen DeFee and George McLeod. Kathleen would be honored to have memorials made to any church or charity of choice.
