Ira W. Keech, 85, East Manchester Township, died Wednesday, May 28, 1997, at York Hospital, York, PA. Born March 25, 1912, in Spry, PA, he was the son of the late John I. and Leah Axe Keech. He was a 1929 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. He served eight years as a sheriff's deputy before joining the domestic relations office staff. He had a total of 24 years of service before retiring. He was a member of Star View United Church of Christ, Mount Wolf. He was a member of BPOE 213, York; Loyal Order of Moose 307 Chickies Rock, Columbia; Victory Club; Viking Athletic Association; Rooster Club; 12th Ward Democratic Club; and 13th Ward Political Club. He is survived by his wife, Betty C. Kerns Keech; two daughters, Nadine Worley of York and Joan Warner of Blue Ridge Summit, PA; three sons, Ira R. Keech of Dover, PA, Ned E. Keech of Ormond Beach, FL, and Wade E. Keech of East Berlin, PA; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Service at Etzweiler Funeral Home, York, Rev. Gary J. Aichle and Rev. Roger Keech officiating. Burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
