Sergeant Glenn L. Wisdom, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Wisdom, Thirteenth Street and Rex Crossing, has been awarded the Silver Star medal for gallantry in action in repulsing a Jap counter-attack while in combat against the Japanese at Ipe Dam, Luzon. The citation read: "Because of Sergeant Wisdom's alertness and aggressive action the perimeter remained intact and no casualties were sustained by our troops. He is a machine gunner and has served overseas 13 months with the Forty-Third division and has participated in four campaigns: Guadalcanal, Northern Solomons, New Guinea and Luzon.
