POSTON
This community was saddened Saturday when it received word that Mr. Edward Poston, 78 had passed away at the Horton hospital Friday night following a short illness. The cause of his illness is not definitely known.
Several years ago the family moved to Hiawatha from the Poston farm south of Fairview. He has a host of friends in this community. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Paul Smith of Hiawatha and seven sons, Roy and Leo of Powhattan; Archie of Lewiston, Idaho; Glenn of Yawima, Washington; John of Kansas City and Eddie and Murlin of Hiawatha. Five grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Netawaka at the Methodist Church. Burial was made in the Netawaka cemetery.
