He was born December 24, 1991, at Shirleysburg, a son of Adam and Nancy (Shore) Bard. He was married to Cora Mae Wasson on December 23, 1909, at the home of the bride at Hesston. His wife preceded him in death.
Surviving are three sons, Ernest S. Bard of Akron, Ohio, Paul L. Bard of Mount Union, R.D., and Amos G. Bard of Mill Creek, R.D., and one daughter, Mrs. Norman (Naomi) Lake of Rock Island, Ill. Two sons and one daughter preceded him in death. Also surviving are two brothers, Calvin Bard of New Philadelphia, Ohio, and Scott Bard of Mount Union, R.D., Kistler. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Huntingdon. Mr. Bard had been engaged in farming in Henderson Township for more than 30 years, retiring in 1953. He had been residing with his son since his retirement.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday from the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Huntingdon. The Rev. Theodore Steckel, pastor of the church, will officiate. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery at Huntingdon. Friends will be received at Brown's in Huntingdon after 7 p.m. Saturday until noon on Sunday and then at the church from 1 p.m. until the time for the services on Sunday.
