Mrs. Alice Africa, wife of Mr. Carey Africa, died, very suddenly, at her home, West Huntingdon, on Friday evening. She had been indisposed for some time, but on the evening in question was so much better that she remarked to some one that she would soon be able to attend to her household duties. When in conversation with a couple of relatives, late in the afternoon in question she said that she felt a queer sensation in her side, and she had barely completed the remark before she was seized with a spasm, and in a few minutes she was a corpse. Her death was unexpected, and it has cast a gloom of sadness over the neighborhood. Her remains were buried on Sunday afternoon, and were followed to their last resting place by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives. Funeral services were held in the Baptist church, where an appropriate sermon was preached by the pastor, Rev. G. G. Craft. The deceased leaves a husband and a babe four months old.
