NELSON, LILA C., 85 of Prescott Blvd. in Deltona FL, passed away Friday, October 20, 2006 at her residence. Ms. Nelson was born June 9, 1921 in Springfield, SC, the daughter of the late Townsend and Annie I.Sawyer Corbett and moved to the Central Florida area in 1941 from Orangeburg, SC then to Deltona in 2002.
Lila was a former member of Woodhaven Baptist Church from 1963- 2001 in Orlando and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Deltona and also a member of the Womens Club in Roseland, Florida. Lila was a homemaker and loved the Civil War history, Bible study, trivia, reading, and loved her dogs and her family. Lila is survived by sons, Claud "Bert" Nelson of Deltona and John Wayne Nelson of Williston; daughter, Barbara N. Lynn of Orlando; grandsons, Claud Nelson III, Stephen R. Lynn, John Wayne Nelson, Jr., and Timothy John Nelson; one granddaughter, Christina Heyes; four great grandchildren; and beloved nieces and nephews from South Carolina.
Services will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at 11AM at Fellowship Baptist Church, 114 Courtland Blvd., Deltona, officiated by Pastor Donald Fields, followed by a gathering at Noon. At 1PM to the Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando, with burial at 2:30PM. Memorial donations to Fellowship Baptist Church for A.W.A.N.A. Program. Baldauff Family Funeral Home, Orange City in charge.
