Born August 26, 1920 in Jordan, MT, one of nine children, Helen, at a early age, headed for the big city of Oakland, CA, where she flourished in the culinary industry as a restaurant owner and manager. For years, she was a hostess at the Casa Orinda, in Orinda, CA, where she was treasured, making many friends of the players and coaches of the Oakland Raiders in the "70's".
In 1985, at the age of 65, Helen retired and moved to Leisure World, Mesa, AZ where she immediately mastered the game of golf and won many donut awards. She was also known for hosting many parties at the clubhouse. In November of last year Helen sold her house in Leisure World and moved to Discovery Point, where every person she met she made a friend.
Helen will always be remembered for impeccable sense of style. She will be sorely missed by the sales staff of Drapers & Damons where she built her wardrobe. Only days ago Helen was worried that her lipstick didn't match her outfit for a doctor's appointment.
Helen is survived by daughter, Janet Dudley Genoa, NV; son, Robert (Bob) Holt, Concord, CA; Grandchildren: Phil Orth Mesa, AZ, Dana Spatola Henderson, NV, Jamie Pirslim Concord, CA, and Kevin Holt Concord, CA; and five great grandchildren that she adored.
A private memorial will be held at the home of Phil Orth where her ashes will be transferred to Bob Holt to be fulfill her wishes to be scattered atop of Mt Diablo, CA overlooking the cities of Danville and Walnut Creek where Helen spent years shopping, dining and socializing.
