James served in the Colorado National Guard and US Army during WWII and in civilian life was service manager for Munson-Smith Motors in Tacoma, WA for many years. Several years after his retirement, he relocated to Albuquerque, NM, where he pursued numerous hobbies, such as jewelry making and crafts.
