Mrs. Clara E Spruce, aged 32 years died at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon of peritonitis. She had resided in San Antonio thirteen years, coming here from Emporia, Kan., where her first husband was a prominent banker. She was twice married and widowed, her first husband being J.H. Harrison and her second husband Joseph F. Spruce. She was born in Indianapolis, Ind.

Mrs. Spruce for eight years has been engaged in the insurance business in San Antonio and was very successful in the business world.

She leaves a sister, Miss S.C. Hinkle; a son, John H. Harrison and two daughters, Lenora and Ethel Harrison, all of this city. The funeral will take place this afternoon at 4 o'clock from the residence, 1504 Main Avenue. Rev. S.H.R. Burgin of the Travis Park Methodist Church will officiate. The following will act as pallbearers; Perry J. Lewis, John A. Fraser, J.H. Kirkpatrick, George C. Sauer, Hugh P. Rice, E. B. Chandler, Capt. Fred T. Austin of Fort Sam Houston and R.A. Stowels. Interment will be made in the family lot in Dignowity Cemetery.
